# Parameter Table

Every interactive control maps to an explicit effective variable. Most are not direct experimental observables; they are reduced-order model knobs whose meanings and caveats must remain visible.

| Parameter | Units | Default | Range | Meaning | Evidence Confidence | Main Caveat |
| --- | ---: | ---: | ---: | --- | --- | --- |
| DeltaPsi membrane potential | mV | 165 | 90-210 | Electrical PMF component, displayed as magnitude. | High for physiological range, medium for presets. | DeltaPsi alone is not mitochondrial health. |
| Delta pH magnitude | pH | 0.54 | 0.05-1.05 | Chemical PMF component. | Medium. | Local crista pH may differ from bulk values. |
| NADH pressure | relative x | 1.00 | 0.25-2.75 | Relative Complex I substrate/redox pressure. | Model assumption. | Not an absolute NADH/NAD+ measurement. |
| Succinate/Q drive | relative x | 0.45 | 0-2.5 | Complex II and Q-pool reducing pressure. | Model assumption. | Succinate biology is context dependent. |
| Cofactor geometry integrity | unitless | 1.00 | 0.45-1.15 | Effective preservation of donor-acceptor spacing/orientation. | High concept, low atomistic specificity. | Not a solved structure perturbation. |
| Hydration/dielectric support | unitless | 1.00 | 0.45-1.15 | Effective protein-water electrostatic support and reorganization tuning. | Medium. | Compresses many microscopic variables. |
| Cardiolipin/supercomplex integrity | unitless | 1.00 | 0.45-1.20 | Effective membrane organization and respiratory handoff. | Medium. | Supercomplex functional effects remain debated. |
| Proton leak | relative x | 1.00 | 0.35-3.25 | PMF dissipation not coupled to ATP synthesis. | Medium-high. | Mild leak can be adaptive. |
| Antioxidant buffering | relative x | 1.00 | 0.35-3.00 | Converts generated ROS into visible relative hazard after buffering. | Medium. | ROS is signal and damage. |

## Interpretation Rules

- A parameter can move in different directions across tissues, tumors, nutrient states, and stress states.
- Cancer preset means "rewired/high-pressure scenario," not all cancer.
- Aging preset means "dysregulated environment scenario," not all aging.
- Values are relative until calibrated against a specific experiment.
